I am debating whether or not to purchase a service bot. Particularly a robot vaccuum or floor washer. I have also seen robot lawn mowers, they are a bit on the pricier side for me so the only way I would get the robo mower is if my current push mower breaks. I’m definitely going to some more research first though. I’m also looking into reading some books on robots both fiction and non-fiction.
I have decided to join the army as a career. I would like to do something exciting and technical. BMQ will be difficult but I am determined to succeed at it. I have a long way to go before I can apply. Physical fitness is so important and I want to be prepared. I know this will be the best decision I ever made.
I read an article yesterday in Popular Mechanics titled ‘The New Machine Age’. It discussed a concept known as the Singularity, a huge leap forward technologically that will transform our society. I now plan on reading ‘The Singularity is Near’ by Ray Kurzweil to learn more. The article had some fascinating information on nanorobots. It is believed this technological change could become possible by midcentury. Will these amazing advances benefit our society or cause more harm than good?
Recently I have had a very time consuming obsession with robots. I just ordered a Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 and can’t wait for it to arrive. My knowledge of robotics is not fantastic, but I’m determined to learn. My hobbies vary so greatly because of my ADD, almost everyday it’s something new. So we’ll see how long the robots last!
